Privacy Policy

Last updated: September 30, 2026

This Privacy Policy explains what personal information SETC collects through the website at setc.app, why we collect it, who we share it with, and the choices you have. It applies to this website only. Data processed through SETC products and services is covered by the written agreement with the customer concerned.

Who we are

SETC builds synthetic data for AI and machine-learning training. In this policy, "SETC", "we", "us", and "our" refer to SETC. For the personal information described here, SETC decides why and how it is processed. You can reach us about privacy at hello@setc.app.

Information we collect

We collect only what you choose to send us and the basic technical information any website receives.

Contact form

When you contact us, we collect your name, work email address, company, the topic you select, and your message.

Job applications

When you apply for a role through our careers page, we collect your name, email address, location, the role you are applying for, your resume, and your cover note. You may also provide a phone number, a LinkedIn profile URL, and a portfolio or GitHub URL. Please do not include information in your application that we have not asked for, such as health information, government identification numbers, or details about religion or political views.

Server and request logs

Our hosting provider automatically records standard request information when you visit the site: your IP address, your browser's user agent, the pages you request, and the time of each request.

What we do not collect

We do not use advertising, analytics tools, or tracking cookies on this website, and we do not build profiles of visitors.

How we use your information

  • To respond to inquiries. We use contact form submissions to answer your questions, discuss your project, and follow up on the conversation you started.
  • To evaluate job applications. We use application details to assess your fit for the role, contact you about the hiring process, and keep records of hiring decisions.
  • To operate and secure the website. Server logs help keep the site available, diagnose technical problems, and detect abuse.
  • To meet legal obligations. We may use or retain information where the law requires it or to establish, exercise, or defend legal claims.

We do not use your information for automated decision-making that has legal or similarly significant effects on you.

Legal bases for processing

If you are in the European Economic Area or the United Kingdom, data protection law requires us to have a legal basis for using your personal information. We rely on the following:

  • Steps prior to entering a contract when you contact us about our services or apply for a job.
  • Legitimate interests in responding to inquiries, running a secure and reliable website, and managing our recruitment process, where those interests are not overridden by your rights.
  • Consent where you agree to us keeping your application to consider you for future roles. You can withdraw consent at any time without affecting earlier processing.
  • Legal obligation where we must keep or disclose information under applicable law.

How we share information

We do not sell or rent personal information, and we do not share it for advertising. We share it only as follows:

  • Website hosting provider. Our host serves the site and keeps the server logs described above.
  • Email. The contact and job application forms prepare an email to us in your own email app; nothing is sent until you send that email. Your email provider and ours handle the message in transit and storage.
  • Google Fonts. The site loads fonts from Google. When your browser requests them, Google receives your IP address and user agent. Google's handling of that information is described in its own privacy policy.
  • Legal and safety reasons. We may disclose information if required by law, or where reasonably necessary to protect the rights, property, or safety of SETC, our users, or others.
  • Business changes. If SETC is involved in a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, personal information may be transferred as part of that transaction, subject to this policy.

Our service providers may use personal information only to provide their services to us.

How long we keep information

  • Inquiries are kept as long as needed to respond to you and maintain our relationship, and then deleted or anonymized.
  • Job applications are kept for a reasonable period after the hiring process ends, so we can respond to questions about the decision and, where you agree, consider you for future roles. You can ask us to delete your application sooner.
  • Server logs are kept for the limited period set by our hosting provider for operational and security purposes.

International transfers

Our service providers may process information in countries other than the one where you live, which may have different data protection laws. Where we transfer personal information out of the European Economic Area or the United Kingdom, we rely on appropriate safeguards recognized under applicable law, such as standard contractual clauses.

Security

We use reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect personal information, including limiting access to submissions to the people who need it. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.

Your rights

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to:

  • access the personal information we hold about you;
  • correct information that is inaccurate or incomplete;
  • delete your information;
  • object to or ask us to restrict certain processing, including processing based on legitimate interests;
  • receive a copy of information you provided in a portable format;
  • withdraw consent at any time where we rely on consent.

To exercise any of these rights, email hello@setc.app. We may need to confirm your identity before acting on a request, and we will respond within the time required by applicable law. If you are in the European Economic Area or the United Kingdom, you also have the right to complain to your local data protection authority.

Children

This website is intended for business audiences and is not directed at children. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 16. If you believe a child has sent us personal information, contact us and we will delete it.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. When we do, we will change the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. If a change materially affects how we use information you have already given us, we will take reasonable steps to let you know.

Questions or requests about this policy can be sent to hello@setc.app or through our contact page.
